Deception
2 Corinthians 11:14, 15
14 No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of
light. 15 Therefore
it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of
righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds.
Those who will come to deceive us will not come publicly denying Jesus. They will preach what we preach. They will speak the way we speak. And they will do what we do.
We identify these individuals by holding them up to the Bible. God will allow us to witness the fruit that they produce.
Matthew 7:15-20
15 “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing,
but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Grapes
are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor figs from thistles, are
they? 17 So every
good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear
bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not
bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 So then, you will know
them by their fruits.
